Monday Morning Moo and the rest of the Lovely Detox

Day  One
Day Two
Day Three

Day 6-- Friday
Day six was difficult, because every Friday I go out to lunch with my girlfriends. I still did pretty well, I ordered a plate of edamame and a cucumber and tomato salad. The salad came doused with some sort of vinaigrette, but I still consider this a win. And at dinner we had more of the vegetable soup that I made last night (no noodles for me), which was made with chicken broth. Not part of the world according to Lovely diet plan, but still healthy.

Day 7-- Saturday
I added a bit of protein and fat to my meals today, because I thought I would get sick if I ate an overload of fat on Sunday, and because I was frankly done with eating fruits and vegetables. So in addition to the fruits and veggies I had normally been eating, I added a thing of string cheese with lunch, and two ribs with dinner.

The string cheese wasn't that great, and I really could have done without it. The ribs were heavenly, and I don't even like ribs. I told The Agent those were the best ribs he's ever made.

So, are you ready to see how I did?

Monday Morning Moo: Week 9

Starting weight: 229
Last week's weight: 225
This week's weight: 217
Gain/loss this week: -8
Total loss: 12

Boo-yah.

Now, this isn't really accurate, since as soon as I started eating meat again, I gained a bit of that back. But I think the whole point is that after spending a week eating only fresh fruits and vegetables, I don't need to eat a can of Pringles or a box of Twinkies or whatever.

I don't think this is a healthy option for a permanent diet plan, and since I was making up my own rules  and this wasn't truly a detox, I don't think I was in any way "cleansed." But I do think this is a great way to jump start a healthy dietary lifestyle from now on: lots of fruits and vegetables and lean meats, easy on the heavy sauces, fried, and processed foods.

Hopefully this will help me moving forward!

That's awesome! I wish I could end my dependency on sugar and caffeine, but I just don't want to! Yeah, I'm a toddler.
